Raley’s Provides Immediate Support to Address Rising Food Insecurity
Family-owned grocer partners with network of Feeding America food banks to help meet expanding community needs
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2025) — Raley’s – building on its nearly four-decade commitment to fighting hunger – is stepping up to support their long-time Feeding America food bank partners as food banks throughout California and Nevada report growing requests for assistance.
“Our long-time Feeding America food bank partners have shared with us the urgent food access challenges many families are facing and their need for support to ensure families have the support they need,” said Julie Teel, President of Food For Families Board of Directors. “We are responding swiftly, making funds available so these organizations can continue their critical hunger-relief work during this time of heightened need.”
Food for Families, Raley’s nonprofit, has committed $150,000 immediately to our food bank partners to bolster their supplies and support families in the California and Nevada communities that Raley’s serves. In addition to the new funding availability, from Friday, Oct. 31 through Monday, Nov. 3, Raley’s will donate 20% of its profits across all stores to Food For Families to support families in their time of need.
Raley’s locations offer ongoing programs and special discounts to help families stretch their budgets while accessing fresh, nutritious food. Offers such as $5 Mondays and other in-store savings, as well as the Something Extra loyalty program are designed to help all customers make their food dollars go further.
Since its founding in 1986, Raley’s Food for Families has raised nearly $80 million and helped deliver more than 67 million meals to families in their time of need. In 2024 alone, with the support of team members, customers and vendors, the program raised more than $5.4 million. Raley’s covers all administrative costs for the Food For Families’ programs to allow 100% of donations and funding contributions to go back into community support.
“We remain committed to making sure everyone has access to fresh, healthy food,” Teel said. “We are grateful for the ongoing generosity of our customers and commitment of our food bank partners that help us lend a helping hand not only during times of urgency, but year after year.”
